I'm Full of Anticipation!

This is a big week for me. Tonight is a big night! Yes, new episodes of One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl... but that's actually what I am taping. Tonight, is the premiere of Heroes!!! It's really more of an event, actually. The countdown show and 8, a special 2-hour episode from 9-11... 3 hours of TV goodness! My head is practically spinning with excitement.

And then...

Thursday is the premiere of the best show on TV, The Office! I. Am. So. STOKED.

I would jump up and down and squeal, but it would kill me. Just like Diet Dr. Pepper, apparently. I had a little bit and died a little death. I think I'll hold off on that for another three weeks or so.

Life Is So Hard

I go back to work tomorrow. I wish I could be eager to go back to the land of responsible working adults, but I'm... kind of nervous. It's not like the past two weeks were a vacation. I was bored, I was super sick and I was in pain. But even so, I liked not having to keep anything resembling a schedule. If I was tired, I went to sleep no matter what time it was because I had nowhere to be, nothing to do. I didn't have to put in my contacts or worry about hair or make-up, which normally I can't imagine not caring about about... I guess it's a byproduct of being sick.

But now I find myself on the eve of my return to work and I have to pick out some clothes for tomorrow and I know I'm going to have to (ack!) style my hair and paint my face and prepare and pack food that I may or may not have an appetite for. I know these are little things that I shouldn't be whining about, but I'm just not feeling like dealing with it and all the other stupid drama that surrounds work. I am not ready to be "mommy" to 130 adults and try to balance being careful not to hurt myself and complete my more physical tasks.

Plus, I'm really gonna miss my Brandi!

Anyway... hopefully once I get back to work, I'll get back into the swing of things and it'll be all good.

I've Been Reading....

Totally random, but I was reading this article about Kate Bekinsale studying Russian at Oxford University just so she could read her favorite books in their original language. Who does that? Seriously. You're going to spend all that time and money learning a language for the express purpose of reading books that have probably been translated into English anyway?

I also happened upon this story about a woman who feels like her childhood was taken away from her so she stole her daughter's identity to go back to high school and be a cheerleader. Totally reminds me of an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer! And compared to that mom, this one isn't so bad.

I'm Semi Productive

So I did more this weekend than I have in the past week and a half since I had surgery (had my gallbladder removed & I've been planted on my couch since). For whatever reason, my dad felt inspired to get serious work done on my backyard landscaping and since I'm really looking forward to opening my blinds and not looking at piles of dirt and rock. So.... he took me to Star Nursery, made me look at every tree there, before we picked out a Wilson Olive as planned. To make a long story short, I have a tree! And flowers! Look!

Obviously, it's still a work in progress, but I'm psyched. I actually owe my dad and sister credit for doing most of the work, since I can't bend or lift much.

I also got my roots done yesterday, not a moment too soon! I have naturally light blonde hair and my hair is currently black. I go every 5 weeks and by the 3rd or 4th week, it starts to get a little funky.

I was supposed to drive today, just to get a little practice since I haven't driven since the surgery... but I didn't really feel like getting out of my jammies and going anywhere. I have to drive tomorrow to go to the doctor for my follow-up.

Oh, and I've totally discovered the CW channel. Obviously, I've heard of it, but I never really watched it until I got the cheap cable plan. I started watching Gossip Girl last year (loved it) and now I'm watching the new 90210, Privileged, and - as of tonight - One Tree Hill. Oh teenage drama, how I love you!

Why, Oh Why?

O. M. G

So I'm a Hayden Panettiere fan, mostly from Heroes (just over a week to go!) and I want to preface this by saying she is adorable and her new cut is very cute. BUT... she had this super long, gorgeous hair that I would kill to have. My hair isn't terrible, it's fine but I have a ton of hair... so it doesn't look fine. And it's more bearable than the tempermental thick hair. But it's not thick hair and there are limits. Anyway, I loved her hair. And look at it now:

Sigh. I can only hope this becomes a cool story twist on the show. Or maybe she'll wear a wig. Maybe she's worn a wig this whole time! Her hair never looks as voluminous in real life as it does on the show.

Also, I may be alone in this - after all, I'm sure not many twenty-somethings would admit to sitting at home on a Saturday night watching TV and blogging - but why the hell does Travel channel have to put stupid poker on every Saturday night? It's super boring to play and even more horrible to watch.

Okay, I think I'm going to go work on one of five books I got from the library today. Tomorrow I'll try to post about all the exciting things I did this weekend.
